Character Concept Art

Yven is half dwarf, half elf -hence the strong posture, but pointy ears. He is a former soldier of the overthrown dwarven dynasty. Due to his loyalty and strong emotionl attachment, he decided to never drop the armor, even when it's clearly worn out.Knowing only fight and war, now the soldier without an army, spends most of his time as a mercenary for private expeditions, or at a tavern, thinking about the good old times.His ability to use the shape-shifting crystals makes him a great addition to an army, expedition party, or really any group that needs a guide that can move underground with ease, and who is an experienced fighter.

from the legend of Selfish Elga

Elga is a character designed based on the polish legend: "The legend of selfish Elga".The legend is about an ungrateful girl, who doesn't appreciate what her mother does for her; and one day, while lying under a tree by a lake Elga meets an old man, who tells her to go spend her mother's last days of life with her, and when she refuses -he turns her into a stone as a warning for other selfish girls.My artistic interpretation was modifying the ending of the story, so that the old man would turn her into a stone, but not immediately, causing ashamed and degenerated Elga to hide in the lake and use the magic of the stone to terrorize anyone who dares to look at her.With this artwork I won the 1st place in the Crystal Canvas Rookies 2023 contest.

About me

My name is Malwina Werner and I am currently I'm working as a Mid 2D Artist at Ten Square Games, where I create 2D assets for the Fishing Clash game. Besides making art, at my job I really enjoy the brainstorming, looking for new solutions and finding new ideas -in short- team work!Before joining TSG, I used to work as a freelance illustrator making children's books, comics & illustrations for toys. (Clients include: Mattel Inc, Scholastic UK, Editions Auzou, Maverick Arts Publishing and other), where I had a chance to develop my cartoon-ish style, which I like a lot.Currently I'm enrolled in the Game design, animation and VFX programme at Uniwersytet Dolnośląski DSW, which helps me gain new skills connected to games and art.
